Paul the Octopus has predicted Germany’s elimination by Spain.
He has also predicted almost perfectly the outcome of important matches for the German national team.

Now everybody in Germany hates him for yesterday’s prediction, that came true.
Here are 10 essential facts about the German people’s most wanted dinner:
1. He has hatched in 2006.
2. Paul lives in Sea Life Oberhausen, in the town of Oberhausen, in Germany.
3. He is a common octopus.
4. The first time he predicted matches was during UEFA Euro 2008. He got 4 out of 6 matches right.
5. He got the game against Croatia and the final against Spain wrong that time.
6. At World Cup 2010, he got 6 games out of 6 right.
7. He predicted correctly the wins Germany got against Australia, Ghana, England and Argentina.
